THE PFU, is designed for the challenging operating regime dictated by the characteristics of the KM process. These include elevated pressure, the ability to deliver feedstock to a choked nozzle, and the requirement that powder is delivered in an extremely controlled and reproducible fashion.

The pressure vessel (shown on the left) utilizes a brush-sieve powder feeding system for maintaining a consistent powder feed rate through the KM process.

The powder consumed is much less than HVOF or thermal spray proceses, this is mainly due to unique design of the nozzle.
