Kinetic Metallization: Feedstock

Inovati has developed over 100 feedstock powders, each focused on a particular application. Feedstock is optimized for the Kinetic Metallization™ process, and is one of many reasons why Inovati can deposit coatings that are not possible with other methods of cold spray. Below are some of our most popular feedstocks:

Al-Trans®

The Al-Trans® family of materials are aluminum based metal matrix composites (MMC) that can be formulated to meet the requirements of a diverse range of applications. Read more...

Typical Applications: Corrosion Protection, Dimensional Restoration/Repair, Additive Manufacturing

Tungsten Carbide-Cobalt

Tungsten Carbide Cobalt coatings were introduced to the industrial world as a hard coating for the repair of shafts. Originally as a plasma spray feedstock and more commonly today as an HVOF feedstock. These coatings have proved themselves in a variety of industrial applications, mainly as hardface, or wear resistant coatings. Read more...

Typical Applications: Wear Protection, Dimensional Restoration/Repair, Hard Chrome Replacement, HVOF Alternative, Hardfacing

Ni-Trans

The Ni-Trans family of materials are Nickel based metal matrix composites (MMC) that can be formulated to meet the requirements of a diverse range of applications. Read more...

Typical Applications: Corrosion Protection, Dimensional Restoration/Repair, Additive Manufacturing

Metals & Alloys

Inovati's Kinetic Metallization technology is capable of depositing most metals and alloys including Aluminum, Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Nickel, Tantalum, Titanium, Silver, Zirconium and many more.

KM Polymer Coatings

Kinetic Metallizationß can also be used to deposit a variety of polymer and polymer composite coatings. The low temperature of KM is perfect for direct coating with polymers and eliminates the need for solvents, binders, or other volatile organic compounds. Inovati has successfully produced coatings using PEEK®, Ultem® PEI, and Teflon® PTFE. Additionally, it is possible to add ceramic or metal particles to improve and tune the wear, conductive, or dielectric properties of the coating. These environmentally benign coatings provide extreme corrosion protection at a low cost. Read more...

KM-CrAlY Thermal Barrier Coatings

KM has been used to apply MCrAlY coatings for thermal protection in a variety of applications including rocket nozzles and gas turbine engine components. KM application of MCrAlY creates fully dense coatings and strong metallurgical bonds without the need for high-temperature heat-treatment in a vacuum to facilitate inter-diffusion. The low temperature of KM minimizes segregation, oxidation, and precipitation of the constituents, this creates a more uniform and longer lasting protective surface. Read more...

KM Braze Alloys

The low temperature and high particle velocities of KM are excellent for applying a uniform layer of braze alloy to parts before brazing. This leads to a superior, repeatable, uniform braze with a shorter processing time. KM application of braze alloys has also been proven to decrease the diffusion of undesirable components like Si into the substrate. Read more...
