Kinetic Metallization: Coatings Once Thought Impossible
The first micrograph above is of a tantalum (Ta) Kinetic Metallization (KM) deposition onto stainless steel type 304. Note that the as-sprayed density is >99.7%.
Inovati does not only manufacturer and sell Kinetic Metallization (KM) equipment, but also works to develop KM specific powders to ensure the highest quality of coatings. The first micrograph was deposited using an Inovati specified and provided Ta powder. The second micrograph shows a coating deposited using the same KM process parameters as the upper coating, but with a non-Inovati specified powder. The as-sprayed porosity is 5%.
