KM-ID Gun

The KM-ID Gun was originally developed to coat ID bores of a minimum size of 3.5." As the demand for guns with the ability to coat smaller and smaller internal diameters has increased, Inovati has continued development for assessing these demands. Currently, the KM-ID Gun is in its 3rd generation of design and is able to coat internal diameters as low as 2.125." It is the only cold spray gun in the world that can spray in such a confined space while maintaining a deposition angle that is perpendicular to the substrate wall.

The KM-ID Gun is compatible with the KM Coating Development System and the KM-Production Coating System. The 3.75 kW Thermal Conditioning Unit of the KM-ID Gun can heat accelerant gases up to a maximum temperature of 400ºC. Fluidized powder is injected from the Powder Fluidizing Unit into the KM-ID Gun through the Powder Injection Tube. The powder mixes with heated gas within the mixing chamber and is sent through the patented friction compensated sonic nozzle. The innovative design allows for materials to be embedded into a substrate with superior coating properties.
