• Operation of Kinetic Metallization (KM) equipment
• Quantifying the performance of the KM equipment and process
• Performing metallurgical and mechanical analysis of KM coatings/deposits
• Design and fabrication of prototype KM equipment
• Development of the KM technology for new applications
• Interfacing with suppliers for procurement of KM consumables and equipment in accordance with specifications

• Degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering, others considered, B.S. min.

• Laboratory experience including documentation of results
• Materials testing (e.g. mechanical properties, corrosion, and wear resistance)
• Metallurgical sample preparation a plus
• Procurement of materials/equipment
• General mechanical fabrication skills
• General drafting skills, e.g., AutoCAD or TurboCAD
• Capable of creating and reading engineering drawings for equipment and facilities
• General computer operating skills and MS Office
• Preference for design/fabrication skills associated with interconnecting of components for high-pressure gas systems including air-compressors, pressure tanks, blast cabinets, high-pressure inert gas lines, & HVAC

• Communication with scientists, engineers, and management
• Document preparation including technical feasibility and cost proposals
• Sufficient communication skills to conduct demonstrations of technology for potential customers

• Position requires good physical capability and health to handle and move equipment, components, and materials.
